Omega-3 forms the immunity of the child at the stage of pregnancy

Expectant mothers can save their child from problems with immunity and food allergies if during pregnancy they lean on fatty fish, walnuts, and flaxseed oil. By including omega-3* fatty acids in your diet, pregnant women enable the baby to activate its immune system already in the womb.

Products that should be included in the diet of every expectant mother are salmon, mackerel, tuna, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed. Now, unfortunately, the consumption of these products has decreased. And there are more and more children with allergies.

A group of scientists from the National Agricultural Research Institute of France (France’s National Agricultural Research Institute) deduced a link between the diet of the expectant mother and the state of the intestines and the immune system of the fetus. If pregnant women ate foods containing polyunsaturated fatty acids, the intestinal walls of developing children became more permeable. As a result, a much larger amount of substances and bacteria entered the bloodstream, forcing the fetal immune system to work more actively.

Study lead author Dr Gaëlle Boudry comments: “Our study was done on pigs, but pig intestines are known to be very similar to human intestines. We came to the conclusion that polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet of a future mother have a beneficial effect on the development of the child’s intestines and, accordingly, on his immune system. It matures faster, begins to work more efficiently, and the likelihood of food allergies in the future in the baby is sharply reduced. Unfortunately, fish and nuts are now often neglected in the West, replacing the fatty acids they contain with corn oil. But it’s so easy to provide an unborn child with excellent immunity and practically guarantee the absence of food allergies, simply by including oily fish and nuts in the diet.”

To ensure the normal development of the fetus, the body of a pregnant woman daily releases approximately 2.5 grams of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. This amount is approximately equal to the second daily rate of their consumption. A deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids in the body of a future mother is dangerous for miscarriage or premature birth.

* Omega-3 are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are vital for the human body, but are not synthesized in the human body, but only get into it only with food. Omega-3 is found in marine and vegetable fats. Its main source is considered to be fish oil, which was previously taken to protect immunity and from various diseases.

Omega-3 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega-3_fatty_acid plant sources include linseed, soybean, rapeseed and sesame oils. Knowledge about Omega – 3, we should be grateful to the Danish scientist Dyerberg, who for a long time watched the Eskimos and their diet. After all, everyone knows that the food of the Eskimos is fatty, but nevertheless they rarely suffer from cardiovascular diseases.

Omega-3s have been proven to have positive effects on various allergies, asthma, eczema, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes mellitus, psoriasis, arthrosis and some cancers. The daily intake of Omega 3 is 1.6 grams for the female body, and 2 grams for the male.
